Modesto Throttlers Car Club
Modesto, California
Established in 1949

The Throttlers have been around since 1949 and was one of two car clubs in Modesto at the time with the other being the Century Toppers. The Throttlers are the third oldest car club in California with at one time over 100 members that reached as far as Stockton and Lodi. The Throttlers are one of the few clubs with one of its original members still active in the club. The Throttlers are a non-profit organization that have raised over $20 thousand dollars for the Faith Home Teen Ranch for Boys.

The Modesto Bee has a photo article online from the Throttlers show.

The Modesto Bee newspaper this morning (Monday Sept. 24, 2007) had a surprise for us. They did a photo article from the car show yesterday on the front of the local section. We held the Modesto Throttlers 26th Annual Picnic and Car Show this year at the SOS (Sportsmen of Stanislaus) Club in Modesto. It is the 50th anniversary year of the SOS Club. You never know when they might show up and do an article on a show, it sure is great when they do though. I have placed a link to the ModBee article and pictures. To visit it, just CLICK HERE!

26th Annual Modesto Throttler's Picnic & Car Show at the SOS Club
Sept. 23rd, 2007 Modesto, CA
Photo album should be online by mid week.

The sky had a lot of black clouds but we got lucky. No rain all day and a lot of blue sky after all. Having the show with the SOS Club was something new. They have a great facility and grounds, we were fortunate to be able to utilize it for the car show. They were celebrating 50 years of the SOS Club. We had a total of 73 rods at the show, so it was a success. Ni9na Neece took home Best of Show with her Camaro. The photo album should be online by the middle of this coming week.

Modesto Throttlers Annual Picnic & Car Show, September 23rd, 2006, Faith Home Teen Ranch, Ceres, CA

This years show went very smooth compared to some of the shows the past several years. Overall, I think the show was very good except for the low participant turnout. Past shows have been around 85, this year was lower with around 65 rods attending. One difference this year was a lot of new cars attending that have not been here before. The $500. Best of Show prize was something done this year in hopes of drawing more cars, but instead brought cars we have never seen. Brad at Auto Life Auto Parts and Sporting Goods in Modesto arranged for the Treger BBQ which made the Tri Tip excellent.    Click here to visit the photo album!

Modesto Throttlers Annual Picnic & Car Show, September 24th, 2005, Faith Home Teen Ranch, Ceres, CA
The 2005 show was given a nod by Mother Nature. Instead of cold dreary clouds and smog, we had beautiful blue skies and a temperature that was perfect. There were approximately 80 rods in attendance this year. The poker walk kept a lot of people busy till lunch time. The tri-tip lunch with salad and beans was good. The raffle was darn good with a roll a round toolbox and portable engine hoist being several of the larger items. The awards were given out off and on as the raffle continued.   Click here to visit the album!
Modesto Throttlers Annual Picnic & Car Show, September 18th, 2004, Faith Home Teen Ranch, Ceres, CA
This day was one of those busy car show days for your photographer. I started out in Escalon at the Escalon Lion's Club Fall Cruise Car Show, then to the Modesto Throttlers Show at the Faith Home Teen Challenge Ranch. The next stop after this was the Late September Nights Car Show in Hughson. The weather could have been a bit better, very overcast, so the photos are not quite as nice as what I like to do, but you can't change mother nature. The turn out here was pretty good, I tried to get all the vehicles present, hopefully I didn't miss many. Enjoy the photos....
